More than 13,500 firefighters are battling wildfires in California
Wildfires in Northern California have burned more than 100,000 acres and destroyed more than 500 buildings.
The intensity of the fires increased due to wind and drought-stricken vegetation.
Nearly 43,000 Californians have been evacuated and more than 500 families have taken shelter in shelters made available to them. Due to these fires, schools, parks, popular summer beaches have been closed and flights have been cancelled.

“As we've seen on the news every day, Northern California is dealing with multiple wildfires. In fact, the frequency of these fires is surpassing last year's record season, which left more than 4 million hectares burned. Therefore, the situation is now more critical than ever, and people in Northern California need to be prepared.”
Fire crews battling the blaze have only managed to contain 5% of the area, helped by moisture and cooler temperatures overnight as the blaze subsided somewhat on Sunday.
However, officials have stated that the battle with the fires has been challenging due to the rather difficult terrain.

More than 13,500 firefighters are working to contain the wildfires in California.
Drought is currently affecting nearly half of the United States. More than 95% of California is experiencing severe drought conditions.
The climate crisis has intensified heat waves which have caused wildfires that are difficult to control.
