
The coalition of PDK, AAK and the Nisma party has won 34.1 percent of the votes in the parliamentary elections in Kosovo. The second party in Kosovo with 27 percent is the Vetëvendosje Movement, which in these elections has managed to double the number of voters compared to the last elections. Meanwhile, the coalition of LDK, AKR and Alternative with 25.7 percent of the votes remains the third party in Kosovo. The voter turnout in the elections, according to CEC data, was over 750 thousand or about 42 percent of citizens, while over 1 million 872 thousand had the right to vote.
Last night, supporters of the PAN coalition celebrated in Skanderbeg Square, while supporters of the Vetëvendosje Movement celebrated in Zahir Pajaziti.
Experts on political developments in Kosovo say that the country may enter a deadlock over the formation of a new Government since none of the political entities have won more than 35 percent of the votes. For the formation of the Government of Kosovo, at least 61 votes in the Assembly are necessary. The winning coalition or party mainly counts on the minorities in the coalitions after the elections, as a constitutional category necessary for inclusion in the Government.
