The Deputy Ministry of Health believes that COVID-19 cases will continue to be low

The Deputy Minister of Health, Mira Rakacolli has said on Tuesday that the curve of new cases of the coronavirus will continue to be low, considering that there is a downward trend compared to the previous week.

During her speech, Rakacolli said that COVID-19 is a new disease and still contains many unknowns. She emphasized how the epidemiological tracking is done, the COVID tests are carried out and spoke about the pandemic situation in Albania compared to other countries in the region.

Moreover, Rakacolli underlined that Albania has a good average in terms of the number of infected people per 100,000 inhabitants, and in this regard, the country is better than Kosovo, Serbia or North Macedonia.

"The testing strategy has been determined from the beginning, for cases that have symptoms and cases that have close contact with infected persons due to epidemiological contact. There are more cured than hospitalized. We have never had a situation where the system as intended is unable to handle hospitalizations.
