Rama's visit to Thaçi in The Hague, Grenell: Prosecutor Jack Smith, a disgrace

US President Donald Trump's envoy for Special Missions, Richard Grenell, has commented on Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama's visit to The Hague, where he met with former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi.

Grenell praised Rama's harshness towards the legal case of US prosecutor Jack Smith, stating that Rama has shamed Europeans for allowing this "injustice" to continue.

“NATO ally and Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, harshly criticizes Jack Smith’s legal case against former President Thaçi in The Hague and shames Europeans for allowing this injustice to continue. Jack Smith is a disgrace. Rama is right,” Grenell writes.

Meanwhile, Rama himself described his visit to The Hague as a confrontation with a "theatre of shame of international justice" against Thaçi, describing the process as unfounded and politically motivated.

The Albanian Prime Minister stated that Thaçi is in good condition, despite the restrictions placed on his fundamental rights.

Rama stressed that the injustice against Thaçi is "outrageous" and lies at the heart of democratic Europe, criticizing the role of European states and the United States in financing the process.

He also called for respect for freedom and justice for the people of Kosovo and the Kosovo Liberation Army.
