Borisov's party fails to form the new government
Borisov also officially rejected, as he had previously warned, the offer of President Radev to form a new government after the failure of the party's attempt before that of TV presenter Slavi Trifonov.

The prime minister-designate of former prime minister Borisov's party, former foreign minister Daniel Mitov, returned the mandate to form a new government cabinet without holding talks with other parties.
In the July 11 elections, the ITN party of popular TV presenter Slavi Trifonov won 65 seats, just two more votes than Borisov's party in the 240-seat parliament, which also includes four other small parties, none of which have a chance of making it. the only government. Political uncertainty and internal conflicts in parliament have forced local politicians to sidestep other pressing issues, such as approving a revised state budget, forming a strategy for the expected wave of refugees from Afghanistan, speeding up vaccination and preventing a new health crisis amid an increase in Covid-19 cases.
