The US military has announced that it has attacked a speedboat in the eastern Pacific, after suspicions that it was transporting drugs. According to international media, four traffickers have been killed.
Since early September, the US has been bombing drug-carrying speedboats in the Caribbean and the Pacific Ocean.
According to President Trump's statements, at least 99 people have been killed in these attacks.
However, UN experts have questioned the legitimacy of these operations.
The Trump administration specifically accuses Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro of being the head of a drug trafficking network, something the latter denies, accusing Washington of seeking to overthrow him in order to seize the Latin American country's oil reserves, which are among the largest in the world.
