Put a footnote on Kosovo, Montenegro reacts: We have not violated the diplomatic protocol

Montenegro reacted to the footnote that referred to Kosovo even though it officially recognized it as a state in 2008.

On August 4, the Minister of Digital Society and Media for Montenegro, Tamara Srzentic, sent an official invitation to the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, to participate in the Digital Summit of the Western Balkans, which will be held in the Montenegrin state on October 11-13.

The Ministry of Public Administration and Digital Society of Montenegro said that there is no violation of diplomatic protocol.

"The entire organization is in accordance with the rules for representing Kosovo in regional initiatives. Therefore, the invitation sent to the Minister of Economy of Kosovo, Artane Rizvanolli, did not violate the diplomatic protocol and multilateral best practices", said the Ministry of Public Administration and Digital Society of Montenegro.

In all previous documents of the Government of Montenegro, Kosovo was treated in accordance with the decision to recognize independence, not using the footnote.
