Veliaj in Kosovo, expected by Albin Kurti: Cultural events are a good opportunity to promote Albanian art and culture

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, met the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti in Pristina in a friendly meeting.

Veliaj appreciated the role of the Kosovo diaspora in contributing to economic development, while Kurti emphasized that the economy of his country is growing.

Veliaj also mentioned the two cultural events that will take place next year, the "Manifesta" biennial in Pristina and the activities in Tirana within the framework of the "European Youth Capital 2022".

For the mayor of Tirana, these events are a good opportunity to promote Albanian art and culture.

NOTICE FROM THE PRIME MINISTRY OF KOSOVO

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti together with the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, welcomed the Mayor of Tirana, Mr. Erion Veliaj and the deputy mayor of the Municipality, Mrs. Anuela Ristani.

They discussed the pandemic and the progress of the vaccination process in both countries. Mayor Veliaj was interested in the effect of the pandemic on the economy, appreciating the role and willingness of the Kosovo diaspora to contribute to economic development.

Prime Minister Kurti said that the economy has begun to rise and according to projections, economic growth will reach 7.9 percent of the gross domestic product. He said that progress has also been made in exports and tax collection.

They also discussed the cultural events that will be held in the capitals of both countries next year. Pristina will be the host of the biennale "Manifesta", while the Albanian capital of the activities of "Tirana, European Capital of Youth 2022". Mayor Veliaj said that these two events are a good opportunity to promote Albanian art and culture.
