Study: Vaccinated, tend to be asymptomatic when infected
Vaccination halves the period of infection. This is the conclusion reached by British scientists, who say that in the minority of people who may be affected by COVID-19, full vaccination reduces the period of symptoms by up to 50%. This feature appears mainly in people who show symptoms of infection for 4 weeks or more.
The figures show that of the 1.2 million people who were included in the study, only 0.2% of those vaccinated became infected, of which only 5% had symptoms for more than 4 weeks. This percentage was more than twice as high among unvaccinated persons who became infected with COVID-19. Also, the vaccinated are twice as likely to be asymptomatic in case of infection.
The study is published as the British government plans to roll out the third dose of vaccines. This 24-hour period, Britain recorded its highest level since March of 207 daily deaths from Covid-19. The highest number of daily victims for a 5-month period was recorded by the United States with 1480 deaths.
However, mass vaccination has more than halved the death toll compared to the preceding wave of the January-February period, when this process was in its early stages.
