Germany has relocated a total of 5347 people from Afghanistan
According to Defense Minister Kramp-Karrenbauer, all German soldiers have already been evacuated from Afghanistan. Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer said the suicide attacks had made it clear that prolonging the operation in Kabul was not possible.
According to the minister, the German army, the Bundeswehr, has evacuated a total of 5347 people, among them more than 4.000 Afghans and about 500 Germans, by air transport, initially in Tashkent and in some cases in Germany.
Kramp-Karrenbauer said that even after the evacuation operation ends, Germany remains responsible for the people who could not leave on military flights.
Chancellor Merkel considered what happened in Kabul to be an absolutely disgusting assassination attempt. According to German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, the German government is working to create departure options for at-risk Afghans.
