22 people have lost their lives due to the floods, while dozens more are missing
Just as it was warned about the catastrophic consequences of the Henry storm, where I hope it will end only in material damage, unfortunately dozens of people are missing, while at least 22 people have lost their lives after the floods in Tennessee.
Millions of people on Long Island and southern New England have been warned of storm surges, strong winds and waves that threaten to bring major flooding and power outages.
Due to the floods, hundreds of houses have become uninhabitable, while roads and bridges have become out of order.
The weekend's flooding in rural areas took everything in its path, knocking out phone lines and leaving families unsure whether their loved ones had survived the floods.
Rescue teams are searching desperately among the destroyed houses. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden expressed his condolences to those affected and declared that the authorities will provide assistance to all those who need it. About six million people living near the coast in parts of Long Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts were issued a hurricane warning before the storm made landfall. Although hurricanes are common this time of year in the US, they usually hit further south.
The New York Times reported that Henry would be the first hurricane to hit this part of New England in 30 years.
