Four Kosovo police officers, on duty at the police station in North Mitrovica, have been suspended from work. The police officers suspended by the decision of the police director are suspected of abuse of official duties.
The suspension of the police officers, according to the Kosovo Police, came as a result of the images published on several portals and social networks, which show images of how police officers in uniform, while performing their official duties, spend time in a bar/sports club .
In addition to the temporary suspension, the North Mitrovica police station has initiated the procedure to investigate the alleged violations, while "other internal disciplinary investigation procedures will be led by the police investigators of the Directorate of Professional Standards".
"Self-discipline and organizational discipline are the basic elements on which the values of the Kosovo Police are built, in the service of citizens and law enforcement, therefore such actions, such disciplinary violations will not be tolerated and as such will be punishable ", it is stated in a press release of the Kosovo Police.
