The former American President has stated that he was unfairly censored by them
The Trump-social media soap opera is now becoming something of a routine and will most likely last for a long period of time.
This time the former American President has filed a lawsuit against three of the largest technology companies in the country, claiming that he was unfairly censored by them. Trump announced the lawsuit against Google's Facebook, Twitter and YouTube as well as the companies' executives.
"We are demanding an end to the dubious bans, suppression of expression and blacklisting you know so well", he said. For a long time, social media has waged war on Trump due to false posts and promoting violence. Trump's frequent posts about the pandemic situation and not only have been blocked many times by other social networks.
Trump was suspended from Twitter, Facebook and YouTube after his followers attacked the Capitol building on January 6. The companies raised concerns that it could incite further violence.
However, Trump has continued to declare that he won the 2020 election even though officials have said there is no evidence of massive vote manipulation, as the former President claims.
The lawsuit against Facebook and CEO Mark Zuckerberg says the company acted unconstitutionally when it kicked former President Trump off the platform. Similar are the lawsuits against Twitter and YouTube. All three lawsuits ask the court for damages, but without specifying much.
