Three films from Kosovo win awards at the Sarajevo Film Festival

Three films from Kosovo, which were in competition at the Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF), have won awards.

The "Heart of Sarajevo" award for the best actress was won by the actresses of the film "Lions of the Hill": Flaka Latifi, Era Balaj and Urata Shabani.

The prize for the promotion of gender equality was awarded to Norika Sefa for the film "In search of Venus". Meanwhile, the special appreciation of the jury was given to the film "Pa vend" directed by Samir Karahoda.

At the solemn ceremony of the festival, which was held on Thursday, August 19, at the Sarajevo Theater, the prize for the best film was won by "Great Freedom" by Sebastian Meisea.

The award for the best director was given to Millica Todorovic for the film "Celts".

"Heart of Sarajevo" for the best actor went to Georg Friedrich for his role in the film "Great Freedom".

The special prize of the jury for the documentary film was given to the films "The same dream" directed by Vlado Petri, as well as the film "Looking for horses" by Stefan Pavlovic.

Meanwhile, the best documentary was chosen as "Landscapes of Resistance" by Marta Popivoda.

The Human Rights Award as part of the documentary program was awarded to Ahmet Nexhdet Çupur for his work "Les Enfants Terribles".

Meanwhile, the award for the best student film went to the film "Summer Planning" by Alexandru Mironescu and "Everything ahead" by Mate Ugrin was chosen as the best short film.

The Sarajevo Film Festival is the largest film competition in the Western Balkans. This year, at this festival 18 films had world premieres, three international premieres, one European, 24 regional and one Bosnian.
