The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, had a phone call with the American Vice President, Kamala Harris.
The latter has thanked Kosovo for its willingness to host Afghan refugees after the chaos in Afghanistan by the Taliban.
Osmani thanked Harris for the gift of 500 vaccines to Kosovo as he emphasized that the action once again sealed the steadfast friendship between the two countries.
The President of Kosovo has invited Kamala Harris to visit Kosovo as the two leaders have agreed to meet soon.

The excellent partnership between our two countries and the special relations between Kosovo and the USA were at the center of this conversation. On this occasion, President Osmani expressed to Vice President Harris the permanent gratitude of the people of Kosovo for the continuous support from the USA and reiterated that the USA remains the main strategic partner of our country in the process of consolidation of citizenship.
The parties also discussed the situation with the pandemic, in which case President Osmani once again thanked the USA and President Biden for the donation of over 500.000 vaccines. President Osmani said that such an action has once again sealed the unshakable friendship between our two countries, as well as is the clearest evidence of the USA's unwavering support for our country.
Meanwhile, Vice President Harris emphasized that the US is deeply grateful to Kosovo for its close cooperation and the willingness and generosity shown to welcome thousands of Afghan citizens.
Deputy President Harris also expressed the gratitude of the Biden administration for supporting Kosovo in this mission and reiterated the personal and deep connection between the Biden administration and the people of Kosovo. During the conversation, deputy President Harris conveyed her heartfelt thanks for President Osmani's hosting of the ceremony to award the Presidential Rule of Law Medal to the late Joseph Robinette “Beau” Biden III.
In this first exchange between the two leaders, President Osmani took the opportunity to once again congratulate Vice President Harris on her appointment to the second highest state position. She emphasized that the victory of the Biden-Harris team is not only a victory for America, but for the entire democratic world. Further, she emphasized that the appointment of Mrs. Harris as the first female vice president of the USA, as well as the example she set, will remain marked as a moment of glory in our modern history. Her work and commitment, according to President Osmani, serve as an inspiration for many future women and girls around the world.
