Virgin Galactic has said it will start selling tickets for space flights starting at $450, weeks after the company's billionaire founder Richard Branson took a high-profile flight to the edge of space.
The space tourism company said Thursday it is making progress toward starting flights. It will sell single seats, package deals and entire flights.
Branson soared 55 miles (88 km) above the New Mexico desert aboard a Virgin Galactic rocket on July 11 and returned safely on the vehicle's first test flight in space, a symbolic achievement for a venture he began 17 years ago, reports theguardian.
In June, Virgin Galactic received approval from the US aviation safety regulator to send humans into space. The company said it will have three offers for consumers – for a single seat, a multi-seat package and a full-flight purchase.
