'Horrible', 'brave': World leaders react to Kabul attacks

Politicians from around the world strongly condemned the deadly attacks at Kabul airport.

Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg described the incident as a "terrible terrorist attack" and said that evacuating as many people as possible remains the number one priority.

French President Emmanuel Macron, in a statement strongly condemned these terrorist attacks and expressed appreciation for the heroism of the people on the ground continuing with the evacuation operations.

The Foreign Secretary of Great Britain, Dominic Raac vowed that "Britain will not allow such cowardly acts of terrorism to stop him".

Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez expressed his government's deep solidarity with the victims of the explosions.

As he confirmed that there are no Italians among the victims, Italian Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio said he strongly condemned the attacks and expressed his condolences.

He also joined the world leaders The Foreign Minister of Albania, Olta Xhaçka, which strongly condemned the event and reaffirmed Albania's position to guarantee the security of its Afghan allies.

Meanwhile, it is expected that he will also speak about the event US President Joe Biden.

More than 60 people, 12 of them American servicemen, were killed by explosions this Thursday in Afghanistan. At the center of the attacks near the Kabul airport were Afghan citizens trying to leave for the United States or American service citizens.

The attacks took place near the Abbey Gate of Kabul airport and near a hotel known to be a British base. After the kamikaze explosions, gunfire began, causing dozens more deaths. There are hundreds of injured. The so-called Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attacks./tvklan.al
