The number of hospitalized people, mostly unvaccinated, reaches over 100

The United States again experiences high numbers of hospitalizations from the coronavirus. In this 24-hour period, the number of people hospitalized in all hospitals of the country reached over 100, the highest level of the last 8 months, close to the records of January.

Although across the country, more than 60% of the population has completed the full vaccination process, hospitalizations are close to the same levels as in December when vaccination had not yet started, as well as the number of intensive care admissions.

However, the health authorities clarify that the affected patients with the Delta variant are in the vast majority unvaccinated. This category also has the highest level of fatalities.

Germany is also facing high levels of the spread of infections. During the last two days, there have been over 12 daily infections. The 5-digit levels of infections have thus returned for the first time in 3 months.

Infections have an increasing trend in Great Britain, while they are stable in the rest of the continent, where low death rates are maintained thanks to vaccination.
