Various countries are rushing to evacuate their people from Afghanistan by August 31. The UK moved around 1,200 people towards London in the last few hours.

French Prime Minister Jean Castex said his country would not be able to evacuate people from Kabul airport from Friday night. More than 2,000 Afghans and a hundred French have been evacuated from France since the operation began last week. Belgium managed to move 1400 people to its territory, most of them Belgian citizens, but also from the Netherlands.

Hungary stated that its army evacuated from Afghanistan all Hungarian citizens that the Ministry of Defense is aware of, including 540 people, among them 57 Afghan families and 180 children. Poland completed the mission in Kabul by relocating 1,300 people. Among the evacuees from Warsaw there were also 175 ex-employees of the Lithuanian and Afghan military contingent who have helped the Estonian military troops for years.

Nearly 400 Afghan evacuees arrived in Seoul, where the South Korean government said it was changing the law to allow long-term stays for those who cooperated in South Korean projects in Afghanistan before the Taliban took power.

Russia has received new orders to buy helicopters, firearms and modern border defense systems from the Central Asian republics bordering Afghanistan after the Taliban took control of the country.

Earlier this month, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan held joint military exercises with Russia near their borders with Afghanistan.
