Explosions were heard in Kiev tonight, the mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Vitali Klitschko, said in a post on the Telegram platform, after authorities issued a warning of a hostile drone attack.
Reuters news agency cited witnesses who confirmed that explosions had occurred earlier in the Ukrainian capital.
Mayor Klitschko urged residents to stay in shelters until the alert is lifted.
An airstrike warning has also been issued for areas north of the Ukrainian capital.
