YouTube has banned Sky News Australia from uploading new content to its channel for a week. This measure comes as a punishment for this media, since according to the technology giant it has reversed the rules and spread false information about Covid-19.
YouTube did not show the articles that were against the established rules, but announced in a statement that the materials could harm many people.
The digital editor of the TV channel said the decision was an attack on free thought and according to him had nothing to do with breaking the rules.
Sky News Australia is owned by a subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch's News Corp and has 1.85 million subscribers on YouTube. This media has said that the ban on uploading material may affect revenue.
But and why the measure has been opposed by the media, YouTube again said in a statement that its policies on materials that are allowed to be published are clear, based on the guidelines of local and global health authorities.tvklan.al
