These images show the extraordinary power of the winds of Hurricane Ida that hit the US federal state of New Orleans a few hours ago. A 60-year-old man is the first victim of the hurricane, who died after a tree was uprooted by strong winds. destroyed a part of his apartment. Strong winds also brought heavy rains that caused extensive damage and flooding mainly in coastal areas.
The intensity of the winds began to decrease after the hurricane touched the ground, reducing the speed from over 200 to 140 kilometers per hour, as shown by the journalists on the ground of the American media who did not find it easy to stay among them.
The hurricane also damaged power lines, leaving about 1 million Louisiana residents without power. The air vortex reached a gigantic diameter of up to 27 kilometers.
