Last week there was a large number of people infected with coornavirus, while this has led to an increase in cases requiring hospitalization.
The director of the Clinical and University Hospital Service, Valbon Krasniqi, announced a day ago that there is a drastic increase in the number of patients with coronavirus who require hospital treatment.
According to him, almost 100 patients are hospitalized every day.
And because of this situation, Krasniqi has said that they are forced to treat only serious cases in hospitals, while he demands that patients be treated in family medicine centers as well.
"Even in the past, we have seen that the treatment of patients at the QMF has worked well", Krasniqi declared on RTV Dukagjini.
Krasniqi says that from Monday many services will be reduced in the KKUK clinics so that doctors can focus on patients with coronavirus, Telegrafi reports.
"...We are forced to suspend elective (non-emergency) programs, while visits to specialist clinics will be reduced to 50%. We also apologize to the health workers as we were forced to interrupt their annual vacations in order to have enough personnel to treat patients", stated Krasniqi, among other things.
The director of SHKUK says that for the first time, 10 children infected with the coronavirus have been admitted to the Pediatric Clinic.
