US imposes sanctions on individuals and entities linked to conflict in Sudan

The U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has imposed sanctions on four individuals and four entities for their role in fueling the civil war in Sudan.

This was said in a statement published on the website of the US Treasury Department.

According to OFAC, this transnational network, composed primarily of Colombian citizens and companies, recruits former Colombian soldiers and trains soldiers, including children, to fight alongside the Sudanese paramilitary group, the Rapid Reaction Forces.

The Office noted that since the beginning of the conflict in April 2023, the Rapid Reaction Force and its associated militias have repeatedly attacked civilians, including men, boys and women, restricted humanitarian access and committed violence. In particular, following the capture of Al-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, on 26 October 2025, the Rapid Reaction Force mercenaries, supported by Colombian mercenaries, committed mass killings, ethnic cleansing and sexual violence.
