Fauci: Necessary for boosting immunity
The chief American virologist, Anthony Fauci, says that the injection of the third dose of anti-Covid vaccines can start as early as next week in the USA. Speaking in front of the White House team, he said that the third dose should be given to all those vaccinated with two doses, not only to the at-risk categories, as the FDA recommended a few weeks ago.
Fauci referred to Israeli studies, where the third doses have been injected since August, which they say speak of a significant decrease in infections among people who have received it.
Italy and Austria are the next countries to start injecting the third dose from October, focusing first on the elderly and the weakest categories of the population.
Hungary is the first country in the European Union, which started injecting third doses from August, while other countries such as the Czech Republic, Belgium and Spain have started to apply it to vulnerable categories of the population.
