Republicans oppose Biden's mandatory vaccination initiative
The entire globe continues to be gripped by the new wave of the coronavirus, as in the last 24 hours the number of victims reached nearly 10 again. The most serious situation is being experienced by the United States of America, which in recent weeks is facing figures similar to the peak of the pandemic last January.
In the last 24 hours, the authorities there reported 171 new cases and over 1700 victims. The situation is also problematic in hospitals that are facing an increased flow of patients seeking specialized medical treatment.
Meanwhile, the initiative of the American president, Joe Biden, to make vaccination mandatory for certain categories of the population, has encountered resistance from Republican leaders.
They said the decision goes beyond the president's constitutional authority, especially the idea that millions of Americans could lose their jobs if they refuse to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
In addition to the USA, many other countries have decided to make vaccination mandatory for certain categories of the population.
In Hungary, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has said that vaccination will become mandatory for all those who care for other people, just like France and Greece.
Moscow, meanwhile, has recently ordered the vaccination of all people working in the service industry, a decision that comes at a time when Russia is dealing with a large number of victims.
In the last 24 hours alone, Russian authorities reported nearly 800 deaths.
