Donald Trump is not the worst president in American history. He is the worst American in American history. That distinction matters because what comes next, for him, has very little to do with Democrats, politics, or ideology. Trump will be brought down first by his own people, because that's how things always end for men like him.
Recently, Trump also managed to exploit the brutal murder of Rob and Michele Reiner. In a mindless post on Social Truth, he complained about “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” as if that had any relevance in the context of a double murder. This moment tells you everything you need to know about Donald Trump. Even in tragedy and death, Trump believes history is about him.
Rob Reiner was a liberal. He was also right about Trump. And whether Trump likes it or not, Reiner was a better man and a much greater creative force. Trump's inability to resist putting himself at the center of someone else's murder is shameful and inexcusable. This is why Trump is the worst American in American history. He has no shame, no self-restraint, and no internal monologue to tell him when to stop.
Trump is not playing the same game as everyone else. He never has. He is cheating. He is whatever he needs to be at the moment – to get more money, more attention, and more loyalty. Money is the only thing Trump values more than himself, and that includes basic human decency. This is the same man who openly bragged, on tape, about intentionally grabbing women inappropriately because he believed his wealth and status gave him the right to do so.
Trump is getting worse, and anyone who has spent time with older people knows what that looks like. Compare Trump's speeches today to those of six years ago, and the decline is obvious. Slurred speech. Confusion. Physical weakness. The constant insistence that everything is fine. We've all seen this in our own families. You don't have to be a doctor to understand it. And, we just went through this with Joe Biden.
At the same time, Trump is burning every bridge between himself and his base. It matters that Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has turned against him because she represents a large part of the MAGA movement [Make America Great Again / Let's restore America to its former greatness] that has long been silently venting about Trump's flaws. One day it's total commitment. The next day it's total denial.
But it didn't start with Marjorie Taylor Greene. It started with the end of Trump's "romance" with Elon Musk in a veritable media disaster - the worst for the White House since Monica Lewinsky. They were the closest of friends, touring together, almost inseparable, until one day, out of the blue, Musk accused Trump of being on Epstein's list. That's how quickly loyalty around Trump fades.
And, this will only accelerate after the 2026 midterm elections.
Regardless of how the Republicans perform, Trump will be more of a liability than an asset in the days after that election. If the Republicans lose, Trump becomes an excuse. If they win, Trump becomes unnecessary. In either case, he is no longer useful, and when Trump is no longer useful, he is discarded.
If you need further proof, look no further than his chief of staff, Susie Wiles, who told Vanity Fair-it – in a series of official interviews – that Trump is behaving like an alcoholic.
This is the fate of all tyrants. They are not betrayed by their enemies. They are betrayed by the people closest to them, because those people want the throne for themselves.
Watch Marco Rubio carefully. Watch JD Vance even more closely. We’ve seen this pattern dozens of times before. Trump 1.0 was a revolving door of loyalty followed by public betrayal. Trump 2.0 will be worse, because the stakes are higher and patience is running out.
There is no honor among thieves, and Trump has nothing left to offer the right wing. He cannot bring stability. He cannot bring unity. He cannot bring politics. The only thing he can offer is chaos, self-aggrandizement, and the rambling speeches of a narcissistic clown.
No one will like Trump's stink as we approach 2028.
And, soon, Republicans will pretend they never knew him.
They'll say they had doubts. They'll say they were fooled. They'll say Trump overdid it. We've seen this scenario before. It always happens in the end.
Donald Trump is the worst American in American history. And, like any man who demands absolute loyalty without offering anything in return, he will be betrayed first by the people who once called him king. /Telegraph/
