Twitter, YouTube and Google: We will ban hate speech, posts violate our rules
Twitter and Google are planning to remove from their platforms content that denies the genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina's Srebrenica by Serbian forces in 1995.
Referring to the case of Srebrenica, Twitter and YouTube companies say that their policies are clearly defined and that they "forbid any hate speech".
Likewise, Google, which owns the video platform YouTube, says it will remove all content that violates rules set against the spread of hate speech.
The Genocide Research Institute based in Canada has collected the data on the denial of the Srebrenica genocide, where it turns out that mainly the posts insulting the victims come from Serbia, Russia and France.
Twitter recently signed a document with the Center for Israel and Jews in Canada, through which the network pledged to stop the spread of hate speech against Jews. The same document was signed by other major companies, including Google and Facebook.
On July 11, 1995, Bosnian Serb forces entered Srebrenica, an area declared safe by the United Nations, and executed 8,000 people. These killings were recognized as genocide by the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
