North Macedonia and Kosovo are in danger of being removed soon from the list of so-called safe countries, as far as the coronavirus pandemic is concerned.
According to the Macedonian media, Slovenia, as the leading country of the European Union, has compiled a new list of countries, in which the restrictive measures regarding movement in the EU should be returned, due to the worsening of the epidemiological situation.
EU member states will vote in the coming days to approve the updated list. In addition to Macedonia, it is learned that the EU has also included Montenegro, Israel, the United States and Lebanon in the list of unsafe countries.
According to EU principles, countries that are not on the list of 'safe countries' are not allowed to enter the EU, except in cases where travel is necessary. Likewise, the restrictions do not apply to those who reside or travel officially in the territory of any European Union country.
We remind you that North Macedonia and especially Kosovo are reaching record numbers of new infections with Covid-19.
