PDK deputy, Bekim Haxhiu, has requested a meeting of the Assembly of Kosovo in an extraordinary session, due to the increase in the number of infections.
Through a post on Facebook, Haxhiu emphasizes that the health system may collapse.
Haxhiu's full post:
"6765 positive cases, 20 deaths from COVID-19 in the last three days in Kosovo.
From 29.03.2021, when the vaccination started for 5 months, only 12% of the citizens of Kosovo were vaccinated with two doses of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine.
Without the total responsibility of the Government of Kosovo, while Albin Kurti deals with Bulliq and Isufi on topics that are not at all current, Arben Vitia is running for Pristina, doctors are without support, hospitals are without drugs, patients are without support!
Unfortunately, while Kosovo is heading towards a health disaster, we are close to the risk of the health system collapsing completely.
Seeing the incompetence and irresponsibility of the Government and the President, I ask Glauk Konjufca, the Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, to call an extraordinary session of the Assembly of Kosovo to discuss the situation with the pandemic in which the country has entered.
The health system can collapse and we can save the country from a health catastrophe only if we all come together to defeat the pandemic.
The government has failed to vaccinate and manage the pandemic, therefore the Assembly must take the responsibility that belongs to it according to the Constitution, to save the citizens of Kosovo from the health disaster", said Haxhiu.
