Sex robots that look like your dead partner! Here's how their cloning will happen

"Sex" robots could soon be "cloned" to look like your deceased partner, thanks to innovative new 3D scans.

Manufacturer Lux Botics claims to produce "ultra-realistic humanoids" that have speech control and a facial recognition function.

The company has created a main model named 'Stephanie', which has artificial intelligence capabilities, reports the "Daily Star".

Customers are able to edit 'Stephanie' to make her look like anyone's partner.

Lux does this by collecting several photographs of the individual, and using sophisticated scans, prints a 3D model at a "very good resolution".

Once a mold is created from the 3D model, it is inserted into a robotic skeleton.

Nails, eyebrows and lips are then painted on, transforming the robot into a more recognizable face.

But mechanical companions are not cheap. Artists are expected to command a price ranging from £3,000 to £7,000 for a scan while a print is estimated to cost around £2,000.

Lux Botics co-founder Bjorn told the Daily Star: “We can make robots that talk, but we haven't made robots that really walk on their own. We hope to develop this in the near future. We can make a large number of body parts move in a realistic way.”

In December it was reported that robots programmed to pant and moan in bed were being made by a British company.

LoveDolls, which operates from a large factory in China, has updated its range of models to make them more realistic than ever.

He even says that robots can answer questions and "make sexual noises".
