At the airport of Kabul, the civilian flights suspended since the day when the Taliban took power in Afghanistan have started.

The flights for the evacuation of hundreds of thousands of local and foreign citizens, part of the diplomatic corps and international organizations were made possible by the military part of the airport that was managed by the American troops until their complete departure from Afghanistan.

The technical teams that put the airport into operation and helped the Taliban repair the runway and get the radars back up and running were from Qatar and Turkey. Kabul airport was first opened to receive planes with humanitarian aid, and then the first civilian flight from the capital Kabul to the southern city of Mazari-i-Sharif took place.

Meanwhile, the Taliban said at least 17 people were killed by celebratory gunfire in the air on the night that Americans and allies fully withdrew from Kabul airport. The civilian population in this country is waiting for emergency aid from air flights to this airport as the population's food situation is deteriorating.
