11 people were killed in the explosion in Kabul
The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has said that the situation in Afghanistan has deteriorated greatly and that it is extremely tense around the Kabul airport.
He was visiting Ireland after an explosion outside the airport. So far, at least 11 people are reported killed in the blast, including children, and many Taliban guards were injured.

"We are facing an extremely tense situationMacron said at a joint press conference with Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin as he called for caution.
The Turkish defense ministry says there have been two explosions outside Kabul airport. The explosion at Kabul airport occurred in a sewage canal where Afghan refugees were verifying their documents. According to him, a suicide bomber detonated his explosives into the crowd before a second attacker opened fire.

Three American service members are among the injured and the number of American casualties is expected to rise. The US embassy in Kabul described it as "a huge explosion".
The blast came after the United States and allies urged Afghans to leave the area because of a threat from Islamic State.
