RCC and CEFTA cooperate to advance the regional common market

The Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), Amer Kapetanović, participated today in the opening of the CEFTA Week 2025 in Pristina, where he emphasized the importance of regional cooperation for economic progress and market integration in the Western Balkans.

The event was also attended by Rozeta Hajdari, acting Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade and current Chair of CEFTA, Valentina Superti, Director at DG ENEST of the European Commission, Matej Zakonjshek, Director of the Transport Community, and Pranvera Kastrati, Director of the CEFTA Secretariat.


During his speech, Kapetanović emphasized the RCC-CEFTA cooperation in advancing the Regional Common Market (CRM) Action Plan and supporting the implementation of the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans. He congratulated the current Chairmanship and the CEFTA Secretariat for their work and welcomed the appointment of Ms. Kastrati as Head of the Secretariat.

“Regional cooperation works when it brings practical and measurable results. Together we are turning CRM commitments into concrete benefits for businesses and citizens, from cheaper communication to easier trade and stronger digital services,” said Kapetanovic.

He also cited regional improvements, including record levels of foreign investment, advancements in the digitalization of trade procedures, roaming with the EU, electronic signatures, as well as the first SEPA transactions in three RCC participants.

Kapetanovic also highlighted the development of the CRM Monitoring Tool by the RCC, which will enable governments and partners to track reforms and increase transparency and accountability.

During his stay in Pristina, the RCC Secretary General met with the acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, where we discussed advancing the implementation of the CRM and harmonizing regional efforts with the EU Growth Plan.

CEFTA Week 2025 will continue with discussions on competitiveness, digital transformation and gradual integration into the EU market. /Telegraph/
