The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) has announced the execution of "prison arrest" security measures for 10 people suspected of involvement in a structured criminal group, which was involved in international drug trafficking.
The arrested are: Rexhep Rraja, Përparim Rraja, Gazmir Rraja, Aldo Gjini alias Aldo Iamandi, Jani Çavo, Islam Sefa alias Islam Xaka, Agim Nina alias Lorenc Selmani, Zamir Aliaj alias Zamir Çoku, Sokol Qaja and Marvin Bushati alias Marvin Kopliku.
Four others – Bujar Sefa, Hajdar Sefa, Vildan Baroku and Ervis Shuli – have been declared wanted and are being pursued by state police structures and international partners.
According to SPAK, during the search, they were seized:
415,000 euros, 7,000 US dollars and 1,000,000 lekë
11 mobile phones
3 vehicles (BMW X-5, Range Rover, Volkswagen Golf 6)
1 Glock model firearm with 9 rounds
1 bulletproof vest, 1 pair of binoculars, 1 ROLEX watch, 1 DVR and various documents
SPAK investigations reveal that the criminal group trafficked narcotics from Albania to Montenegro and Germany, from Ecuador to the Netherlands, and from Albania to Turkey.
Communications between the suspects were carried out through the encrypted application "SkyECC", the data of which was secured by French authorities.
The operation involved close cooperation with German, French, Dutch, Belgian, Montenegrin, Turkish and Ecuadorian authorities, as well as with Eurojust and Europol.
SPAK announces that investigations continue to identify other persons involved in these criminal activities and to gather evidence on the roles of leaders, financiers and participants in the group.
This operation is part of criminal proceedings No. 9 of 2024, registered by SPAK for the criminal offenses "Drug trafficking" and "Structured criminal group", committed during 2020-2021.
