Russian President Vladimir Putin declared today that if Europe wants to fight, then Russia is ready now.
Speaking after an investment forum in Moscow, the Russian president said that Europeans do not have a peaceful agenda and are on the side of war, and demanded demands from the war in Ukraine that are unacceptable to Russia.
"We do not plan to go to war with Europe, I have said this a hundred times," he said.
"But if Europe suddenly wants to fight us and starts, we are ready now. There is no doubt about that," Putin stressed.
"If Europe suddenly wants to start a war with us and does, then a situation could very quickly arise in which we will have no one to negotiate with," he adds.
"The Europeans are also hindering the US administration and Donald Trump in their efforts to reach a peace agreement through negotiations," Putin said.
He claimed that the city of Pokrovsk in Ukraine is now fully under the control of the Russian military, after Moscow's defense ministry released footage that apparently shows Russian soldiers waving flags in the city on the front line.
