Prosecution and Police in action, checks on 15 businesses in Pristina for illegal aesthetic services with Botox

The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina, the Department for Serious Crimes, respectively the Economic Crimes and Corruption Unit, in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, the Directorate for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption in Pristina, respectively the Unit for the Investigation of Counterfeiting of Money and Official Documents, the Health Inspectorate and the Market Inspectorate, is conducting a broad action today.

This action is being carried out in implementation of the Order for Control and Temporary Seizure of the Preliminary Procedure Judge of the Basic Court in Pristina, Department for Serious Crimes, for the control of 15 locations - businesses, all in Pristina and the seizure of evidence that is suspected of being directly related to the criminal offenses under investigation 'Abuse of official position or authority' 'Illegal exercise of medical activity', 'Prohibited trade' and this due to the existence of reasonable suspicion that these businesses, in violation of the Law on Medicinal Products, have offered aesthetic services using the medicinal product 'Botox' even though according to the law, the provision of this service is done by certified personnel.


Also, based on official data, it results that in the Republic of Kosovo, there is no licensed economic operator for the import of this medicinal product and as such, this product, under these circumstances, is treated as illegal.

"The Basic Prosecutor's Office in Pristina will continue with full commitment to taking legal measures against any form of illegal activity, with the aim of preventing and combating this negative phenomenon in the protection of the public interest and the health of citizens," the announcement states. /Telegraph/
