The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has reacted after the passing of Shemsi Krasniqi - Shemi, the vocalist of the legendary band "Ilirët".
In her message, President Osmani emphasized that it was with deep sadness that the news of the death of the artist was received, who with his voice and creativity left an indelible mark on Albanian music.
She singled out the iconic song "Xhamadani vija vija", describing it as a powerful and symbolic memory that continues to unite emotions, history, and identity, just as Shemi's voice did over the decades.

The President expressed her most sincere condolences to the deceased's family, friends, collaborators, and the entire artistic community, emphasizing that his loss is a great loss for the country's cultural scene.
She also recalled that two years ago, for their extraordinary contribution to art and culture, Shemsi Krasniqi and the group "Ilirët" were honored with the 'Presidential Medal of Merit'.
