Summer is the time when we all relax and rest, but most of all we enjoy food. The days we're on vacation seem like calories don't count, but when we come back to reality after the beach fun, we're faced with the extra pounds. Everyone wants to enjoy holidays, food, a glass of wine in the evening or even ice creams and desserts. Çenkuela Hasa, healthy lifestyle blogger and author of the "Fit Station" show, tells the "BalkanWeb" supplement some valuable tips on food to be consumed during the summer season, without worrying about weight.

Drink as much water as possible
Drinking as much water as possible means that you will always be hydrated and your body will not have the hunger that is often confused with thirst. Water helps you feel full, too, and by the time you sit down to the table you won't have an extra appetite. Try to drink water before the main meals, to avoid eating more than normal.
 
Balance food with movement
Balancing food with movement means you're burning calories, not just taking in. So that we can maintain balance when we are on vacation, we need to burn the extra calories we take in a day. On holidays we all get extra calories because we eat some things more than in a normal day and we can eliminate these extras through movement and activity. If you are at the beach you can swim, you can take a walk or run for 40 minutes by the sea.

Move as much as possible
Having a rope when you're on vacation has the whole gym with you. It takes up very little space in your suitcase and you can exercise with it anywhere and anytime. The rope would be your savior in not gaining weight during the holidays. It is one of those cardiovascular physical activities that burns a lot of calories and exercises all the muscles of the body simultaneously. You don't have to do leg, arm or abdominal exercises when you're on vacation. That would take more time. So use the rope at least 20 minutes a day and alternate the throws with rest in between.

Try everything in moderation
Our worst habit is because we overdo it. You've heard the expressions "I'm bursting" or "I'm barely breathing", they are the most classic expressions we use when we're on vacation. Try and eat everything in moderation, little by little. This will not make you lose weight but maintain your weight. Isn't this one of the most difficult challenges with such a simple rule to achieve.

End the day with a light dinner
If I tell you to eat and try everything, I would suggest doing it in the first part of the day. And end the dinner with light meals such as a salad, a filet, a smoothie, some risotto or some steamed vegetables. This is the smartest solution. It's a practice I apply myself and it has fantastic results. These were some recommendations that you can implement on vacation, but not only. These remain some rules that are very valuable for people who simply want to maintain weight.
