New daily cases of Covid-19 in Australia reach 1000

Israel, declared the world champion in terms of vaccinations made despite the progress made regarding the vaccination process, has registered more than 10,000 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours for the first time since mid-January.

Although Israel immediately after starting the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, leading the world in immunizations per capita recorded 10,001 new cases in the previous 24 hours.

At the end of July, Israel became the first country in the world to start vaccination with the third booster dose where currently 19% of the population has received the third booster dose while 59% of the population has been vaccinated twice.

The measure was taken after the data of the Ministry of Health showed a decrease in the effectiveness of the vaccine even though it continues to offer great protection to the seriously ill.

Meanwhile, Australia's new daily cases of COVID-19 have reached 1.000, a figure not seen for the first time since the global pandemic began.

Two major hospitals in Sydney have set up outdoor tents to help cope with growing patient numbers.

Sydney, the country's largest city and the epicenter of the current outbreak, is trying to quell rising cases with the Delta variant.

The state of New South Wales has recorded 1,029 new cases of Covid-19 in the country, surpassing the previous record of 919 the day before.

But despite the new daily record, the country's prime minister, Gladys Berejiklian, has fulfilled her promise to ease some of the rules on outdoor gatherings.

She said the government had consulted health experts before deciding on the rules, and that more lifting of restrictions would be announced when the country reached 70% to 80% vaccination coverage for adults.
