A Dubai-Moscow flight was hit by an unusual incident, leading to a two-hour delay, after a drunk Russian passenger caused a major disturbance on board by demanding alcohol and terrorizing other passengers.
The incident took place on a Flydubai plane, which was about to take off. Passengers were seated, hand luggage was stowed, the crew had completed the final security checks and the cabin was fully prepared for take-off. But the calm was suddenly shattered when a woman began behaving strangely and uncontrollably.
According to witnesses, the woman appeared to be clearly intoxicated. She began yelling at the crew members, tried to touch and push other passengers, and asked the flight attendants to bring her more alcohol, despite her apparent poor health. Her behavior quickly escalated: first she tried to start a physical altercation with a passenger who advised her to calm down, and then, quite unexpectedly, she began to flirt with another man who was only trying to help her.
The flight crew tried to calm her down, but found it almost impossible to control the situation as the woman continued to scream, move around the cabin and disrupt preparations for take-off. The captain was forced to make the decision to abort take-off procedures and seek the intervention of airport authorities.
A few minutes later, local police boarded the plane. After several attempts to talk her down and calm her down, they were forced to escort the passenger off the plane. Once she was removed from the plane and taken into the care of authorities, the crew began the process of re-checking the cabin to ensure that the flight could continue safely.
The intervention and necessary procedures following the incident caused a two-hour delay, which frustrated many passengers waiting to depart for Moscow. However, the airline stated that the safety of passengers and crew remains the top priority, and the intervention was necessary to avoid a potentially dangerous situation during the flight. /Telegraph/
