US unemployment hits highest level since 2021

The labor market in the United States is slowing, according to the latest report published for November.

Employers added just 64 jobs, far below the usual levels of previous months, while the unemployment rate rose to 4.6 percent, the highest level since 2021.

The jobs report was delayed due to the 43-day federal government shutdown, making it impossible to collect full statistics for October and November.

Revised data for October show a loss of about 105,000 jobs, mostly from the public sector, reports usatoday.

Certain sectors, such as construction and healthcare, showed employment growth, but the rest of the economy remained weak. Wage growth has also slowed, indicating low pressure on the labor market.

Economic analysts assess that the labor market remains fragile and unstable, while the US Federal Reserve continues to monitor the situation for future decisions on interest rates.

In summary, the US economy is still creating jobs, but at a slow pace, and rising unemployment signals potential challenges for the coming year. /Telegraph/
