A 40-year-old man in Staffordshire, England, died of COVID-19 after refusing the vaccine out of disbelief. Markus Birks was hospitalized after contracting the virus, but lost his battle with death on Friday.
Earlier this month, Markus called on people to get vaccinated, even though he himself refused.
"When you haven't been infected, you think it won't happen so you hear all the anti-vaccination theories. But when you feel like you can't catch your breath, it's the scariest feeling in the world", he said to "BBC".
At first, his symptoms resembled those of the common flu, but they began to worsen.
When he developed breathing problems, he was immediately taken to the emergency room. "The first thing I will do is tell my family and everyone I see to get the vaccine", were his words.
Unfortunately, Markus did not manage to survive leaving behind his wife who is expecting their child./tvklan.al
