The delegations of Kosovo and Serbia are expected to meet in Brussels on September 7 and 8, as part of the dialogue for the normalization of relations, which is being facilitated by the European Union. The meeting was confirmed by diplomatic sources in Brussels, saying that the agenda of the talks has not yet been set.
The meeting is expected to be at the level of the heads of the negotiating teams. The Kosovo delegation will be headed by the first deputy prime minister, Besnik Bislimi, while the Serbian delegation will be headed by the director of the Office for Kosovo in the Government of Serbia, Petar Petkovic. The EU's special envoy for the dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, spoke by phone with the two chief negotiators precisely to prepare their next meeting.
"I had substantive, separate discussions with the first deputy prime minister of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, and with the director of the Office of Serbia for Kosovo, Petar Petkovic, about the preparations for the next meeting at the level of chief negotiators", wrote Lajçak on Twitter. The meeting of the teams of Kosovo and Serbia is expected to serve to prepare a high-level meeting between the prime minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.
This meeting is also expected to take place during September, but the date for it has not been set yet. The last high-level meeting was held on July 19, but it did not produce any concrete results.
