The Basic Court in Ferizaj - Juvenile Department has pronounced a guilty verdict against the defendant FV, who was found guilty of the criminal offense of "evasion of securing means of subsistence" under Article 245, paragraph 3, in conjunction with paragraph 1 and Article 77 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
The judicial review was held by Judge Shabi Idrizi, who, after administering personal and material evidence, found that the defendant, for the period from October 3, 2024 to the present, has avoided fulfilling the legal obligation to provide for the means of subsistence for his two minor children.
"According to the verdict, FV has been sentenced to one year in prison, a sentence which will be executed after this verdict becomes final," the court decision states.
In this case, the court emphasized that the defendant did not respect the Ruling of the Basic Court of Ferizaj dated June 22, 2023, by which he was obliged to pay 700 euros per month for the maintenance of his children.
"The defendant evaded his obligations by not paying the determined amount of alimony for the joint children," the verdict states.
The court recalled that this obligation must be fulfilled through the defendant's ex-wife, AGV, who as the children's guardian is the legal beneficiary of the payments.
Finally, the court announces that the parties have the right to appeal within 30 days of receiving the written judgment. "The appeal is addressed to the Court of Appeal in Pristina, through the Basic Court in Ferizaj," the official announcement further explains. /Telegrafi/
