Among the 17 citizens who could not win the battle, it was the first case vaccinated with both doses of the vaccine who lost his life.
Isme Humolli, WHO's professional emergency official in Kosovo, said that the dead in Kosovo who were infected with the coronavirus were not immunized.
"The dead were not vaccinated or were vaccinated with only one dose. We have only one case where a person died even though he received two doses of the vaccine, but he had received the last dose a week before his death, but his condition was aggravated by the heart diseases he had", stated Humolli.
The WHO official says that the misfortune of this virus is that it changes its antigenic structure.
"The 'Delta' variant is very infectious and mainly attacks young age groups. This virus is very unpredictable. So a person may not have any underlying disease and with infection from this virus may even suffer death", she told RTV Dukagjini.
