Before the judges, the jihadists who killed 130 innocents in 2015 in Paris

Around the headquarters of the judiciary in Paris, the security measures are very strict. From Wednesday, the trial against the former members of the terrorist organization of the Islamic State, responsible for the series of attacks in November 2015, in the French capital that took the lives of 130 innocent people, has started there. Most of the casualties were recorded in the Bataklan theater.

20 people appear before the judges, members of the terrorist cell directed by Salah Abdeslam, the 31-year-old of Moroccan family origin, who was arrested 4 months after the attacks in Paris in other terrorist acts in Brussels. Members of the same cell are also accused of attacks in other European countries, such as the one in 2016 in Germany.

Not all members of the cell appeared in court. A good part of them have been killed in suicide attacks or in the battles of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

At the opening of the trial, Abdeslam described himself as an Islamic State soldier as he complained of ill-treatment by French prison authorities. The process, which is comparable to that of Nuremberg, is expected to last for several months.
