When the Taliban took control of Afghanistan's capital, Kabul, advertising posters outside beauty salons featuring women in wedding dresses were torn down. Saloons around town were also closed. Any businesses that are against the Taliban's strict rules do not yet know their fate, whether they will open or not.
Afsoon (not her real name) who is a make-up artist is hiding and described how important the beauty industry is to Afghan women and how the entire female target experienced the feeling of receiving something valuable from you. Like any other girl, Afsoon considers herself modern because she likes make-up, social media and has career ambitions.
After fulfilling her dream of becoming a successful make-up artist at a salon that stood out for its posters of glamorous and elegant women advertising subtle beauty, it seemed as if everything was back to normal.
The salon where she worked was packed with people ranging from doctors to journalists, from singers and television stars to brides getting ready for their big day.
But when they called her to tell her not to come to work, she couldn't believe that her journey had come to an end. 'It's over. It's time to hide', he told himself.
Women under pressure from the Taliban are forced to cover up and obey strict rules that suppress their rights. Therefore, terrified, she says: "Women like me are the target of the Taliban."
From the moment the Taliban took over, her years of hard work ended in one day. Now she and many other girls who could not leave to another country and under the leadership of the Taliban will be forced to give up their dreams.
Therefore, in the BBC interview, she did not choose to talk about the future, but chose to close the interview with the words: "I love women. I wanted to work and build spaces where women could be free and shine. We can rest in a place away from men.”/tvklan.al
