The NATO Foreign Ministers have reacted to the situation created in Afghanistan through a joint statement where they demand an immediate stop to the acts of violence in Afghanistan and the full implementation of human rights.
In the 6-point statement, the diplomats of the North Atlantic Alliance promise to continue the process of evacuating all Western citizens as well as local collaborators and therefore request the permission to continue flights at the Kabul airport.
Among other things, the NATO Ministers commit to reflect on what happened in Afghanistan."We will not allow any terrorist to threaten us. We remain committed to fighting terrorism with resolve, determination and solidarity." it is said, among other things, in the statement.
The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, participated in the extraordinary meeting of the North Atlantic Council. Minister Xhaçka said during her speech that it is unacceptable that NATO member countries will not be able to offer shelter and a new life to the people who worked and fought for the future they promised you.
