Four Kosovo Albanians have been evacuated from Afghanistan. The news was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora in Kosovo.
In the press release, it is said that as a result of the escalation of the situation in Afghanistan, the citizens of Kosovo have been identified and helped, so that their lives are not endangered.
"The MFA continues to keep the emergency line open with the number +383 45 492 316, and it is available to offer assistance to all new cases that may eventually be announced in the following period", the MFA communique says.
So the president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, in an interview for the BBC, said that Kosovo is waiting for the Afghans, while she mentioned the fact that she too was a refugee and that she feels this situation.
President Osmani, speaking about the situation in Afghanistan, said that there are scenes that break her heart.
The president said that Kosovo said that it has shown its willingness to accept Afghans without hesitation.
The exact number of Afghans who will come to Kosovo is still unknown, while President Osmani said that this will still be discussed:
"Most likely we will have them sooner than we expect. At first we thought they would come in a few weeks and that we might have more time to prepare…. within three days it will be known about the exact date when they will come".
